SMS gateway by country: send SMS from a local number

An Android phone holding a local SIM is the gateway, so the message leaves from a number inside the country rather than from a foreign route. Recipients see a number in their own country and can reply to it. Each page here lists the local rules, how sender IDs behave, the SIM plans a carrier publishes where it publishes them, and what a cloud provider charges for the same volume.

How a local SIM changes the cost model

A cloud provider bills every message and rents you the number it sends from, so the bill grows with the volume and the destination. A local SIM moves that spend to your carrier plan, which is a fixed price for the messages the plan covers, and textbee charges a flat monthly fee on top of it. One phone sends roughly 10 to 15 messages a minute, so a large blast takes time to drain. Carriers can filter bulk patterns on consumer SIMs. Marketing messages still need consent from the recipient under the local rules.
